Getting back out there

It's been 25 days since my broken leg. Man has it felt like longer. Tomorrow is a big day for me, I'm going into the office. This might not seem like such a big deal if you haven't experienced what it's like to be non-weight bearing on crutches before so to compare, imagine being a year old again and learning to walk. The other day I slipped on my arse in the bathroom because there was some water on the floor, so the prospect of heading into London alongside thousands of other commuters is slightly daunting. It's about a 50 minute journey through the London underground - Woolwich Arsenal to Farringdon.

So I've equipped my crutches with the only fluffy pair of socks that Roisin could find (using them without kills your hands) and here goes nothing.

Talking to people today a lot of them have said things like "you can't go on the underground" and "don't you think you are overdoing it?" but I honestly feel like I can. I think that is a fairly important thing to remember in a situation like this, you know what you are capable of. People will all have their opinions but if you feel ready and able to do something, then go for it. And I'm not just talking about crutching into work with a broken leg.

If you work around the Farringdon area look out for me, I'll be the guy with the absurd pink and white handled crutches.

Wish me luck.
